It's each team's choice this year. Last Thursday hosting Chicago, Columbus wore their blue uniforms.
So, when Columbus hosts the Eastern Conference teams, they will be wearing blue
When they host their conference rivals, they will wear white at least once against each of these teams.
In 2003-2004, the NHL reverted back to wearing their dark uniforms at home (like the league did for the first 54 years of it's existence)
This past summer, that was modified to allow fans to see their team, and their rivals uniforms of all colours.

A few years ago, the league switched from home whites to home darks, this was because so many teams had third jerseys that were dark..so visiting teams had to carry both white and dark uniforms.
The past couple of years teams have wanted a return to the white at home for the fans. I know several teams this year are returning to white jerseys at home for "division" games only.
While it is a general rule that a team currently wears a dark uniform at home, the home team actually gets the option of what jersey to wear, as long as they get the leagues permission.

The home team has the option to wear their whites at home provided they give the visiting team ample notice of their plans.
