Does putting cinommin (spelling?) sticks in boiling water work? My friend said it works really well, but her house already smells great. So, I'm not really sure?
You can just answer this question if you want!

Actually something really creative that I found on the web: A pumpkin potpourri.
You take one med/Small pumpkin and cut so that the entire top of the pumpkin (stem included) is off. Clean it out thoroughly, and cut some small designs into the lid and body (circles, stars, diamonds, be creative). Take Cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, cloves or anything else really that you bake into a pumpkin pie and rub it onto the roof of the pumpkin excessively. Light a tea light inside, put the lid on and enjoy!
It should last about 6 hours if you put a lot of spice on the roof. Smells exactly like pumpkin pie and doesn't require an oven!

Yankee Candle Spiced Pumpkin, Apple Cider, and Home for the Holidays fragreances. Besides foods and candles there really isn't any special smells for Thanksgiving. It's not like Christmas where you can get a live tree that will help bring in a certain smell that would act as a reminder of the holiday.

If you have some cinnamon and sugar, you can just put a few teaspoons of each in a tin pie plate and put it on the stove at a low setting. Same results, different method.

I boil mulling spices in water. For some reason people give them to me and I HATE mulled apple cider. This way they get used and I don't need to drink something I don't like. You can put orange peels, cinnamon sticks, cloves and a little nutmeg in water and simmer it for a nice, citrusy scent.
