khuli loaches!?

Question

I bought one a long time ago and the yellow stripes haven't appeared. Did I buy the right loach. I wanted there to be yellow stripes!

There are different colorations within kuhliis. Some are the black and yellow/orange stripes, others are entirely black. As far as I know, they'll stay the color you buy them. I know that they're sold to stores as separate "varieties".

The good news for you is that these are social fish, that prefer to have several members of their type to hang around with, so you can still get 1-2 more of the striped ones, as long as there's room in your tank.

You aren't alone in liking the striped variety - I've had customers in a pet store that wouldn't buy the black ones - they wanted ones with stripes!

there are 2 different kind of kuhli loaches they are :
kuhli loaches-brown and orange stripes
and there are blakc kuhli loaches
they are whole black no stripes maybe thats what u bought

You more than likely still have the Kuhli...it is just a different variety. The variety that you are searching for is the Pangio-Kuhli and is shown in the source below.

i would not advise conserving the Betta and Ram jointly... on the same time as a "non violent" fish, the Ram will fortuitously attack the Betta (it is going to ensue)... i'd inventory as follows: a million Bristlenose 5 Otos a million Ram 7 Tetras 3-4 Kuhlis
