Have you taken a look around recently? America is made up of a mixture of cultures. Unless you're 100% Native American, your ancestors were immigrants too. People come here for a better way of life. They likely come from places (and it's not just Mexico...there are several other countries where people come from illegally) where they are living in such poverty, they are willing to risk their lives to come to a place where they make one-tenth (this is a true fact...check out www.cis.org) of what Americans make in the same jobs, just so they can send money home to their families to feed them. Plus they are doing the jobs that no Americans are taking, that's why illegal immigrants are coming here...to do the jobs that most Americans won't do. They deal with exploitation and other horrible conditions in this country so their families can live better back home. Most illegal immigrants don't stay in this country either...most of them go back to their countries after they've earned some money.
As for having cultural pride, what's wrong with that? If you were in a country where Americans were the minority, I guarantee you would be hanging out with other Americans, waving the flag at festivals. Wouldn't you want to show pride for the country you came from? It's the same way for immigrants.
What's wrong with children learning another language? Like it or not, Spanish is the second most spoken language in this country and more people are learning it all the time. These children are at an advantage, because by the time they grow up, it will be necessary for them to know it so they can be competitive in the job market. In fact, adults knowing Spanish now is a plus. You can complain that it's the second most spoken language in the country, but it is what it is. No other foreign language is spoken as widely as Spanish is in America, so it makes sense for it to be taught in schools. Do you want your children to be at a disadvantage? I wouldn't think so.
Trust me, you are benefitting from the work of illegal immigrants. Do you eat fruits or vegetables? If you do, they were probably picked by illegal immigrants. Do you use products that were made in factories? Chances are, an illegal immigrant helped make some of those products. Ever been in a new building? Illegal immigrants probably helped build it. So you can complain and criticize all you want, but unless you're willing to give up the things I just mentioned (and a whole lot more), you might want to have more of an open mind about them.

I agree. I'm a legal immigrant and don't take becoming an American lightly... I had to do everything the right way. I have taken all the tests etc... I don't blame people who really want to be here and have a better life, just do it legally and send home the rest... It's as if we are embarrassed to say that there are laws in this country. I resent the illegals. I worked hard and had the strong desire to live "the American dream". Also, tell them to learn English! I had to! I can't go to any other country and expect people to speak my native tongue. They would laugh at me! Why should it be any different here? It is messed up! Big time! We could put our prisoners to work doing the jobs that most people will not do. Like working on farms etc... Mandatory restitution. Then give the farmers and employers tax breaks for training and employing them. Teach them new skills so that the would have somewhere to go out of prison etc... If a person is hungry enough, they'll do just about anything. The excuse of having illegals doing the jobs that we won't doesn't cut it with me. I could go on all day...

Not all the people waving flags at festivals are illegal immigrants, many are perfectly legal but still proud of their origins. It does no harm for people in America to learn Spanish, that is the language many of their neighbours speak. Canadians learn French because so many Canadians speak French.
America has as many illegals as it is prepared to employ. If you don't want Mexicans crossing the border, prosecute everyone who employs an illegal immigrant. If there were no jobs for them, they wouldn't come. The trouble is, Americans would not do the work for the slave wages paid so the only choice is to use illegals unless you come up with some decent labour laws that enforce a minimum wage that people can live on.

Americans don't work hard, at least not compared to Asians. That's why Japan is quickly growing in wealth and power, and will soon eclipse America. Their people have a stronger work ethic (Asian Americans do as well, though some get lazy here) and Americans are so gullible - they pay out the butt for Japanese cars and electronics, building their economy. Americans need the labor that the illegal imms. provide because you know you're too lazy or think too much of yourselves to do those jobs.
America has ALWAYS relied on a cheap labor source. Now that lower class whites are dying out, that cheap labor is illegal immigrants. You should be glad for them because you'd be paying huge prices if they were suddenly gone.

Yes. The key phrase is ILLEGAL. Our ancestors who came visiting from different nations got here in legally. No one is denying immigrants, as a few individuals look to suppose. It's those who suppose the regulation does not observe to them. Many men and women make the argument of, These individuals do jobs noone desires to do - Well, hiya, so do criminals and chain gangs! Should we provide the jail staff amnesty due to the fact they decide on up trash at the facet of the avenue? Heck no! Aiding and abetting criminals and unlawful endeavor has consistently been the regulation. This is not any unique.

Hello,
Well just like drugs they continually exist because of demand for their services. Would the average American want to pay an American worker 20 - 30 dollars an hour for gardening, renos and house keeping or an illegal 3 or 5 dollars an hour for the same work? They can be removed but there has been no political will to do so since many businesses would collapse and yuppies left without cheap day care.
Cheers,

YOU go the hell back where your f*cking ancestors came from! IT'S THE SAME THING, STUPID!
For your information, @sshole, America is made up of MANY CULTURES. That's what F*cking started this 'screwed up' country and society!
People that are so close-minded like you should just drop dead. If you don't even know about how the USA started, why should anyone give a d@mn about your thoughts?

AMERICA is a nation of many cultures and Spanish makes up a great ethnic majority,NOT all are Mexican so you are foolish to make such a generalization.
They work jobs below wage and get paid zero to nothing.
If it's not affecting you don't worry about it.
It takes to much energy to hate.
