Are you asking how you can tell if your computer memory is wearing out? If so, you can use the free software program Memtest to test your computer's RAM to deterime if it is still working properly. You can find it at (http://www.memtest.org/)

"Based on the well-known original memtest86 written by Chris Brady, memtest86+ is a port by some members of the x86-secret team. Our goal is to provide an up-to-date and completly reliable version of this software tool aimed at memory failures detection."

Sorry, what was the question?
I think as you get older it is more difficult to remember things, all i know is if i dont write it down = its gone. I use a notepad at work. But i do find things like this & suduku keep the mind active, its like a mussle & you have to work it all the time or you loose it.
PS. i'm not old either.

memory is very reliable but problem is you might not have enough of it (need to upgrade) - you will know that when yr programs become very slooow (slow to open, slow to respond, slow to work) and if yr computer freezes than you have to upgrade - means memory is overworked - can't handle the job you give to it
some programs are real memory hogs like audio/video editing of any kind is especially hard and demanding on memory - as soon as you download such program you have to max yr memory
otherwise to check yr memory system for FREE go to
http://www.crucial.com and click on free offer to check yr memory - you'll know just abt anything abt yr memory system in seconds and for FREE
this is computer section so i suppose you intended to ask abt computer memory - for human memory check other sections of yahoo answers
