Not at all, it's called caring when 2 parents have obviously neglected their child. What worries me is people like you seem to think it's okay - do you leave your kids alone unattended to? Or maybe you don't have any? What has happened is a terrible event that could have been so easily prevented by good parenting. I'm a damned good Mum and proud of it and I'm outraged that two well educated people would think this acceptable. This is what people are angry about and people are entitled to an opinion, like yourself. You mentioned castigating other people, are you not doing that yourself? Those people who feel angry towards McCanns?

I agree these ppl dont have the facts and yet they think they know enough to judge. Ur so right by saying that these ppl dont want to end neglect, but just to be "right" in the face of other ppls "wrong". I cant believe anyone would say that 3 hrs alone is neglect, especially if they are asleep in bed. Its ridiculous!! They would never say such things much less even care if they didnt get a little ego trip from being "right". I have read books about psychology and on the topic of justice-if ppl cant find a clear cut black and white "villian" then they will blame the victim-in an attempt to make sense of events and preseve their own piece of mind by maintaing their belief in a just and fair world where all the baddies are caught and all the good guys walk free. Its pathetic do they not know their own motives. How someone could even say such a thing is beyond me, these ppl need to grow up and take their snotty warped logic with them.

If ppl cared so much abt child neglect why do they only care once its too late? These ppl are just emotional casualties who spend too much time watching the news, they dont actually DO anything, just love to criticise from their armchairs. I bet half the ppl who say this stuff let their kids out on the streets....where do u draw the line and say its neglect? they are just making life hard for a family that is already suffering. Do they think they can bring her back by bitching about the mcCanns? or even stop one incident happening from the comfort of their front room? I thought not, so there is nothing constructive to be gained but they just love to criticize........do they not think that the mcCanns feel guilty enough? I guess they just want to make them feel that little bit worse.....

The only people that should be ashamed are the McCann's, for abandoning their children, refusing to answer questions, then running away and making a complete mockery of the PJ, who are trying to find the truth about their daughter, they have shamed this Country by inferring it is ok to abandon children!

As for the Thatcher tyrant, you would have to be ruthless to be like her. The anti's as you put it are anti-McCann, Pro- Madeleine and care enough about vulnerable children that they want to see justice.......

I don't know what Thatcher has anything to do with this, but if the McCanns had not done anything to Maddie, they should not have left her alone in the first place. What kind of parent does that? Do you think that if Maddie hadn't been a blonde blue eyed girl she'd be getting all this press and that her parents would be getting so much sympathy for leaving their child unattended?

After years of banging on at my MP by filling his mailbag, and then actively campaigning for an opposition candidate right in front of him during the General Election, I think he has now given up reading my letters, not that he ever took much notice sending me endless stock answers.

We should not have to write to any MP about their neglect. Social Services have been in to them and what.......nothing. They still have their other two children........why? They are middle class.
