Back before microwave.. I 'd get a big pot and put oil in, throw in the popcorn and put a lid on.. Shake it till it pops. Then melt some butter and then add some salt on the popped corn then pour the butter on top.. Shake it then eat. Sorry too dang lazy now to do that. I get the kind in a bag. Whats the use in standing there shaking when you can get some just as good in the microwave. LOL I kinda like a little burnt too as Gcyboy..

There are popcorn that can be done in the microwave
Regardless of how you cook popcorn not all the kernels will cook

With my retro popcorn popper. Add some freshly melted butter* (not margarine) and a little sprinkle of salt. The best. I also love kettle corn, but I don't know how to make it myself so I just buy the bag and microwave it.

On the stovetop is great, but I love my airpopper!!! Then I top with lots of melted butter & salt it!!
I love kettlecorn that you get at the county fair, but that isn't very often so....there ya go! Yes, I love popcorn, too! But not as much as you!! :o)

Favorite is go to the movie....salt and butter......damn...that is some good s.h.i.t......next on the stove in my grandma's popcorn pan.......love the burnt ones and the old maids......see what you did....now I have to go make myself some popcorn.......thanks a lot Tres !!!!!!!!!!

The best way is to have you make it. You can add anything you like, i wouldn't mind a little cheese and butter...:)

That Yellow Popcorn salt, or lots of butter.
There use to be a white cheese flavored popcorn, it was so good. Can't find it here any more.
