How did they right their currency signs? Like we have $ and some other signs I can't type out, lol, but what about back in 1600 or earlier when they didn't have the type of money we have now.

I think you will find that writing was developed before coinage, and before paper money.

They had their own symbols - British currency had l, s & d, for pounds, shillings and pence.

Most coins were imprinted with the coat of arms or the face of the monarch
