the atom behind it. Your question is too 2 Dimensional for an accurate answer. Do you mean, what is smaller than an atom? protons. electrons. whats smaller than that. No one really knows, God holds it together by a process of Inter and Intramoleculer Forces, one day we might find out what these pieces of matter are called.
