When your contractions become very regular and their intensity is the same or worse each time, you should consider them " real " contractions. Right now yours seem a little sporadic and their intensity changes quite a bit. It sounds like you are getting close though!

We will be happy when you have your baby because you will have your baby! Don't worry about asking too many questions! Besides, we'll still get to hear from you on the newborn section!

Congrats!

When I went into labour I couldnt tell either and because I never experienced Braxton Hicks at first I thought it was just that. For my entire labour esecially the first 12 hours my contractions came either every 3-5 minutes but others would be 5-10 like you described. The only thing that gave it away was the fact they wouldnt go away. My waters didnt break and when I got to the hospital I was already 5cms dilated. So just because they arent intirely regular doesnt mean that you arent in labour the only thing that made my contractions regular in the end was being on the drip to induce them. If you are coping I wouldnt head down to the hospital just get but I would be giving them a quick call just to let them know you think its probably labour and they will inform you on what to do next. Best of luck.

You're only like 37 weeks arent you? I cant remember from your last questions, its been a few days.

Anyway, you'll have contractions that come and go, that hurt, that get real close together, its normal. Its when they stay very intense, and dont stop for a couple hours. Or if your water breaks.

There is no real difference between labor contractions and braxton hicks, except that labor contractions tend to be one on top of the other- theyre about as painful as late pregnancy braxton hicks.

If hours are going by with contractions that dont subside you should go in and get checked, you maybe dilating and nearing active labor.

The contractions that hurt your back are back labor, thats also normal to have near the end with braxton hicks.

If they dont slow down and its been a couple or few hours go ahead and call your OB and ask what they would like you to do. Or head to the hospital and have them check you.

I'm not entirely sure if they are real they are a little irregular but if they are regular from now on and as you said they don't ease when walking thats a sign that they really could be the real thing. And answering all your other questions makes me wonder how you actually held on this long but don't worry yet but if they become regular and 5 minutes apart go to the hospital right away but just to be safe you should give your doctor a call now and let them know whats going on. And Yes I will be glad when your baby is born but only so you don't have to worry anymore. Good luckxxx

Usually when you're having very painful contractions ( some people don't have painful contractions, how lucky right? ) you'll know when it's time. Usually they say contractions every 4-5min lasting 1-2minutes are when you should go in. My water never broke with my babies so don't rely on that.

With my son I went to the hospital one night because my contractions were close and coming constant, I hadn't dilated anymore than what I was at the doctor's office prior to my hospital run. They sent me home. At 2 am I woke up and told my husband he wasn't going to work. They were extremely painful to where I was literally going "OHHHH!!!!!!!!" and would either have to sit down or stand up to make them feel slightly better. I remember trying to goto the bathroom before we left to get to the hospital, the distance from where I was standing to the bathroom is about 15feet..it took me half an hour to get to the bathroom because I kept having contractions.

So.. to sum it up, when they're real, you will know!

It does should like real contractions and also the belly would be tightening during the contractions. You need to call the labor and delievering and they can tell you everything that you need to know. and tell you when be the right time to come in.. Good luck and congratulations and have a safe delivery and labor has well.
