log base 8(2x-8)=log base 8(12)- log base 8(3)
division rule says:
log base 8(2x-8)=log base 8(12/3)
log base 8 cancels on both side so you have
2x-8=4
aaaaaaand solve it.
hint hint, add 8 to both sides...then you should figure out the rest

log property is that those logs subtracting is like log8(12/3)

take 8^log8 and they'd cancel out. for all of them
left with:
2x+8 = 12 / 3
2x + 8 = 4
2x = -4
x = -2

log8(2x-8) = log8(12/3)
2x-8 = 4
2x = 12
x=6

it is said as log (2x-8) with base 8 ( i think that is what you mean!)

log8(2x-8)=logb(12/3) (because log a - log b =log(a/b)
taking antilog on both sides
2x-8=4
2x=12
x=6

all to base 8
log(2x --8) = log12 -- log3
=> log(2x --8) = log(12/3)
=> log(2x --8) = log4
=> 2x --8 = 4
=> 2x = 12
=> x = 6
