hi when you first go to the doctors if you have already done the test they will tell you that that test is just as acurate as ones that they do so they dont normally do anything like that. the only time they will want to do that is after your first scan at the clinic there (only if you have problems of that nature)

you may be asked to have an internal and it means they can check that there is nothing wrong. Internals may not be dignified but then giving birth doesnt leave you with much dignity lets face it when you have a baby you have your whole lower body on display anyway.Probably they wll ask you to have an internal but they dont do them until about 12weeks so that you are past the most dangerous stage and it is relivly safe to then do the internal. Hope that helps.

They shouldn't have to give you an internal to figure out that you are pregnant. I had to pee in a jar and then they had a dropper and put the pee on the pregnancy test and then we waited 3 minutes and it was positive. And then ther doc took blood. He wasn't very good at that it hurt like hell and left a huge bruise. Lets hope your doctor is better then mine lol

They take a urine sample, test it, and if its positive they do blood work and send you home with orders to get some prenatals.
You make an appointment after the blood work comes back for your internal.
You can tell them you dont want an internal if you arent comfortable with them messing around your cervix when pregnant- I simply didnt want them to disrupt that area. They were fine with that. Just tell them.

well when i went they took some blood, gave me an hiv test, looked at my thyroid and things like that and everything came back normal. so this may differ between doctors, but its what they did for me. im 9 weeks, and they also gave me an ultrasound.
