If you think this is bad, you should have been around in the Victorian times. Or even Edwardian, because quite frankly by the diatribe you've just spouted they would have put in in The Insane Asylum. They were not buildings of health and well being. They were absolutely insane. Even if you went in sane? You come out insane.
You think it's bad to-day? Walk a day in the French Revolution and you will know what bad is. Or better yet, try living in the Congo three hundred years ago, if you lost a battle to another tribe? It's off to Nigeria or Morocco and you are sold to other black tribes who would sell you to the highest bidder. Usually the Portuguese were the highest bidder. You could have ended up in Brazil. Four million of your ancestral brother's and sisters ended up there.
