why does everyone hate it?
no, i'm not considered emo, but i like the style and the "music" (which is thoroughly debated as to what is emo.)

i feel the same as you. im not emo but i like the style, music, culture. i don't see anything wrong with it.

Nothing is wrong with "Emo", and I don't know why most people hate it...
It could be that everyone thinks that all of the emo's slit their wrists, and cry their eyes out I guess. Which that isn't true at all, because I know plenty of emo people that don't do either one of those things. But yeah, there are those who do (I haven't met one yet though).
I love the style and music, it's really awesome.

i used to be emo. yet I went to by way of a number of of undesirable stuff. i think of you're able to provide up like I did. Personally, I see it as bubblegum boyband crap that takes punk music and style, waters it down and douses it with a lot of saccrine, then sells it for personal and commercial gain. "Emos are in the minority" or are "weird," my a--. The Modern-day emo is to being an "outsider," what GG Allin was to family-friendly.

i think that the only thing wrong with it is that people have to be so cruel to emos! they are people too. emo's really just a stereotype, a mean one. i hate when people just assume that all emo's cut themselves... people would probably consider me emo but i wouldn't take a razor blade anywhere near my wrist if you pay me!

There is nothing wrong with it.
Some people just don't understand "I am who I a."

I think that there's nothing wrong with the style if you like that, but what people don't like is the behavior that is stereotyped to go along with it, if that makes any sense.

I have no idea, people can just be closed minded i guess. They don't see it as someone just listening or wearing something they like they see it as someone following a fad. Which is (hopefully for most) completely wrong!
