What is the difference b/w a manor and an estate?

so i looked up some terms...and they're practically the same. my friend and i are neighbors. she says house size matters? i live in 17,000sq. ft. house..it's a manor or estate?

a manor (think manor house) generally referees to the house alone. estate is normally used for house plus grounds. size does not matter.
