My OB told me to sleep on my left side. However, I did sleep on the right sometimes when I got too uncomfortable. Also, There are big long pillows you can get in the baby section that are great to help you be more comfortable. I got mine at target. Just make sure you don't sleep on your back. The pressure of the baby on your abdominal aorta slow bloos flow back to your heart. My husband was constantly waking up and telling me to get off my back. Good luck!

The general rule is to NOT sleep on your right side, as it pinches a major artery that flows to the baby. Also, sleeping on your belly isn't really a recommended practice, however some people are able to get away with it without a problem, until they become to large in the stomach to sleep properly that way.

Ask your doctor. Hope you're smart enough to be taking care of yourself medically.
You can probably sleep on your belly until you get really big. I had no such problems. However, if you wind up having any blood pressure issues, your left side. There's a large vein that feeds the baby on the right, and it needs to have free flow. Again, it shouldn't be an issue until you start getting large. Congratulations!! you are on the adventure of a lifetime!

i to this day am a belly sleeper, but after the first several months, it became uncomfortable and i had to get used to side sleeping. the doctors recommend the left side for better circulation through the body and to the baby. unfortunately, sleeping at all will become difficult towards the end of the pregnancy.

With me, I have to sleep on the outside of the bed and facing the outside of the bed. They say (in books) the left side is the best side to sleep on...I would sleep on the side that feels comfortable. The pillow under your knee helps when your turned on your side....I prefer a body pillow. Hope this helps

i'm 19 weeks and 5 days and that i nevertheless sleep on my abdomen at cases. It would not harm the baby. It merely relies upon on how mushy you're. If it is going to become uncomfortable then of course attempt to sleep in a distinctive place. My wellbeing practitioner did tell me nonetheless some month in the past to attempt and stay conscious or lay flat on my decrease back for classes of time as this would reason the baby to have a demanding time to acquire oxygen.

The left side is best but you will sleep on both sides equally because you get a little achey when you sleep only on one side. I am a tummy sleeper too and the doctor said it's ok as long as it's comfortable. It was no longer comfortable for me after about 18 weeks.
Good luck!

The left side is the best side to sleep on. Get an extra pillow and lie on that so your semi on your side and semi lying on your stomach without squashing your belly.

It's your left side you are supposed to sleep on. It is something to do with the qxygen flow to the baby. Apparently the left side is better then the right but I really don't see why

You will know when it's not okay to sleep on your belly. As soon as your uterus starts getting larger and you start to experience bloating or constipation, it will no longer be comfortable at all to sleep on your belly, and you'll want to try to use pillows, etc, to sleep on your left side.
