I would like to be an apple tree.
In the spring its blossom is so pretty, then it bears fruit.
The birds and insects love the blossom and then they enjoy the fruit, then people pick the apples for many reasons and even the ones that fall have their uses. Kids would come and pinch the apples and so many people and animals would be around me. In the winter when I am bare I would sleep ready for summer and the job ahead. Yes a fruit tree would be good
and beautiful and usefeul. There is nothing I would hate about it.

I love the catalpa tree with its huge leaves and magnificent shade. I hate the catalpa worms that arrive every July 4 to defoliate our best shade tree. I try to remember to spread diatomaceous earth around the base of the tree and in its fork, as that deters the worms, but it must be done by July 3.
Another tree I'd love to be is a weeping willow. I love to see a full-grown willow sweeping the ground and letting its branches droop into a brook. I can't have a willow in this part of the county because they seek water and would clog the water lines with their roots.

My favorite tree is a Maple tree. In every house that I have lived in, there was at least one Maple tree in the yard. In fact, the Maple trees were in the front yards of the last 3 houses. They provide shade in the hot summer sun and are home to many squirrels in our area.

A Cottonwood Tree. Gets gigantic, puts out a lot of shade in the summer, some people do not like the "cotton" which carries the seeds, birds nest in it, it is a very friendly tree and lives a long time.

Neat interesting question.
Weeping Willow I would be,
The bending hide n' seek tree.
Leaves on branches to the ground,
Tiny voices peep a sound.
Singing the little ones dear,
Families of Robins here.
Roots thrive deep, below the land,
Loved by the touch, a child's hand.

A live Oak....They live a long long time. They are big and strong enough to make wonderful shade. It can hold a swing.
Kids can climb in it easily. It keeps his leaves all winter in the South....The wind has a hard time blowing it over. The disadvantage is that in the spring a yellow dust falls on everything and it is bad for allergies....
