Today I had removed my muffler on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 as it had a hole the size of a baseball in it.
I was wondering if there would be any negitve effects on the gas mileage as I dont have the money right now to put a new mufler on

everyone of these answers is wrong. if it has a computer the muffler keeps the right back pressure on the cat so that it runs like factory if you take out the muffler you throw everything off. it usually results in poor fuel mileage and poor performance. if it does not have computer it will just sound bad and gas up your vehicle

The manufacturers attempt to make the motor vehicle as quiet as achieveable. you prefer to take out the resonator which catches extremely some the engine warmth so as that the different factors-- the cat and the muffler final longer. in case you prefer to artwork, decide for it. i would not be troubled.
