It irks me when you go to these places and they keep your pennies. Like tonight I went to BK for a shake and it was 2.49 so I gave them 2.50 and they keep my penny...I find this happens alot where I live...Lets say they have 200 customers each day that they do this to. That's 2.00 a day at 30 days, they are making 60.00 a month...DEMAND YOUR PENNY BACK!

SOMETIMES THEY DO THAT CAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO ASK FOR CHANGE, WHEN I HAND MY MONEY TO THE CASHIER I ALWAYS KEEP MY HAND OUT UNTIL THEY GIVE ME ALL MY CHANGE BACK, THEY NEED TO GET OF THEIR ASSES AND GO ASK FOR CHANGE. A PENNY IS A PENNY CAUSE I BET IF YOU WERE TO BUY 99 CENT BURGER, AND LETS SAY THE TOTAL PLUS TAXES WAS $1.08, THERE IS NO WAY THEY WOULD EXCEPT $1.07. THEY WOULD WANT THAT ONE PENNY FOR SURE. IT'S WRONG.

LOL, I thought I was the only one who felt like this. Yesterday I went through a KFC drive thru and the lady gave me exactly 1 dollar back in change- I said to myself- wow- not too often your total comes out to an exact dollar amount with no change. so then as I was driving off I said let me look at the recipt- just out of curiousity and found out that my change was really. $1.01. If I was not so far away from the window I sure would have asked for my penny back. On the drive home I was adding that penny up in my head- just like you did. I said to myself, next time I will take a change purse and singles and tell them I have the full total besides one penny- lol. I know it's very petty , but it's the point. She could have just told me they don't have any pennies - etc. ( but one thing is for sure- if they totally my order wrong- in my favor- or gave me extra food- I would not tell them. lol)

it doesn't matter if it is only a penny it is stealing just the same. i wouldn't let someone keep my penny, you are right, give me my dang money back. they can't decide for me whether or not it is worth it to give me back my own money.

Amen, sister!! Definitely tell them, "You owe me __ cents. I'd like it right now, please!" If they don't give it to you, ask to talk to the manager.
