hsingh86 - has the US not already tried to strengthen the dollar? It just seems to me that alot of the information coming out about the US, ie pay rolls, retail sales, housing maket all seem to be bad. This inturn will cause people to loose some faith in the dollar depreciating it value. Yes or NO?

My opinion is that it may briefly hit 1.50, but will pull back. I say this, b/c the Europe is beginning to slow down. The correct monery response will be to cut the interest rates, and once the interest rate is cut, it will make the dollar bit more stronger. Just like people in 90's were buying tech stocks, currently it looks like everyone is buying Euro's so it could be argued that the Euro is in a bubble that should pop.

2nd- I think that there is a lot of pressure on the U.S treasury to take measurers that will inrease the value of the Dollar, and it maybe that the treasury buys back some dollars to increase value.

Just my two cents but I dont think 1.50 is a sustainable level

After fighting WWI and WWII I think that some have figured another way to beat our country.
About a decade or so ago I took World Business from this lovely German lady. We talked about the Euro and whether or not the idea would succeed. She said the Germans would never give up their currency for the Euro but that if they ever should, we should be very careful. . .could be WWIII.
My answer is up.

The Dollar is going down. The question is now when 1.50 will be reached - it could be any day - the real question is when the Dollar will fall below 2.00

I would say it's almost hit its top now and up to May 2008,
but it might drop a little bit after summer because of election
and oil price going steady.

EUR/USD will definitely hit 1.50, the only question is when.
