I think if there is hope of finding the child alive, then to come out with this is putting her in danger.
I`ve not posted many opinions on this case but this seems to be very unprofessional to me.

I could not agree more. If they are closing in on the alleged abductors why on earth announce it and pre-warn the perpetrators. It just does not make sense. Why not stay quiet, get the job done and then take all of the plaudits. Are these people sharing what information they may have with the police or acting independently? They say they are 100% she is alive. As she has not been found how on earth can anyone come out with such a statement? They have a six month contract with the McCanns apparently. Who puts a timescale on such a tragic case? They should continue until they have found her or they have to admit they have exhausted all avenues. Personally I think it is yet more spin to divert any more suspicion about the McCanns themselves.

The Detectives have only been looking 2 months which is a lot less time than the Portugese Police and I hope every word is TRUE!!!!
I hope they are right and she is alive as I've NEVER believed her parents had anything to do with her disappearance. I don't fully support the McCanns actions but I do know I'd have been doing whatever it took to get my childs name and image as well known as possible! If they hadn't done as they did, would people even remember her name?
If they've kept her alive this long then the chances are they are not Killers and perhaps the fear may prompt them to leave her somewhere and run!
I, like you, think though that they might have done better keeping quiet! but unlike the fervent Anti-McCann brigade I don't see anything sinister about it!

I thought exactly the same thing - it is extremley unprofessional. All everyone wants is for that child to be found one way or another and this case to close.

Don't believe a word of it. The private detectives were hired by the McScamms - suspects in their own child's murder. Apparently, they saw Maddie with someone two DAYS after she was neglected by her parents - that was in May, it is nearly Christmas - exactly what has taken this detective so long - shouldn't they have involved the official police to get the abductor tracked and under survelience or is that too obvious!

I agree with you big time. Unless the information given is the opposite of the real story to throw the kidnappers off.

So many of these so called sightings have been proved false but I do think that sooner or later one will prove positive and little Maddie will be found.

I agree. There is way too much information slipping out in the media.

There's nothing responsible about Mitchell-McCann. It's immoral to behave in this way. Why not just fly back to Portugal and assist the police with the investigation?
