American Imperialism??? Had Hawaii NOT been annexed into the United States, they surely would have fallen into the hands of Communist Imperialism!
Hawaii's American annexation was a necessary and good call, for such allowed us to establish a strategic Naval base there. Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor is a tragic indication of how close the Hawaiian Islands are to the Axis allied nations.
Hawaii is a free state with a democratic state governmental system.....we owe plenty of respect towards Hawaii.

the us got pearl harbor (so us could put naval bases on it) and duty-free sugar. they also had control over their government.
