Help needed!! why did they not allow women to play soccer at first?

why did they not allow women to play soccer at first? iIn the United States. Was it becasue of a certain reason on jut because they didn't??? Please i really need help paper due tomorrow and i do not know this!

same reason they didn't let women do alot of things.

well, women generally were considered property and not as "persons" prior to WWI . . . they started gaining rights and independence after the war, which is also when they began participating in sports.
