Well don't throw methylated spirits on it like I did because the back was not burning! The fire jumped into the bottle of Meths, and I was holding it in my hand and threw it up in the air, bottle still in my hand, and it landed on my arm and set my arm alight. I had a Maulative Cocktail in my hand. Don't know how to spell it!
Don't call the Fire Brigade either, they are hopeless, and don't throw water on it. an old blanket (learnt
after the accident) is a good way, or just add more "fuel to the fire"! If it is an argument you are not invovled in and enjoying it. No Joking folks!Try to be the peacemaker.

If there's a fire do get out and call 911!
Don't:
1) Ignore it.
2) Fan the flames.
3) Pour starter fluid on it.

Put a bag of Doritos on the fire. I did that. I got frazzled a few years ago, forgot where the fire extinguisher was. The pan was on fire and I was so upset I threw the bag of Doritos on it. One of my kids thought I was nuts. The funny thing is: the plastic on the bag, smothered the flame, ruined the pan.

If it's a chip pan fire the worst way to attempt to put it out is by throwing water on it.....unless you want your kitchen a lovely shade of black! (damp tea-towel over the pan and turn the heat underneath it off)
If a kitchen appliance went up in smoke throwing water on it would cause a more serious fire and possible electrocution and thirdly, sorry can't think of one.

Throw the neihbour on mate, or may be just tell him you are thinking of it. Fires are a big proplem here in Australia and we have total fire bans especially during the summer months.

Well certainly don't do what I did. A milk pan set on fire, and I immediately remembered the advert that was always on TV about how to put out a chip pan fire, with damp cloth. My perverted brain thought "Oh, it's not a chip pan." And I got hold of the bl****y milk pan and tried to take it outside and of course flames went EVERYWHERE. Lordy, was I scared. I just THREW it out of the door, and flames were all over. It's a wonder I didn't get bad burns, but was lucky. It scared me though, and I said "DAMN that bl****y advert - they should SAY it was for milk pans as well. " DUH!!!!
