We read with some confusion that Gerry McCann has spoken of his belief that "a predator" was watching his family in the days before his daughter Madeleine's disappearance.

Perhaps I'm dim here but if you believe that somebody is stalking your children would it not be wise to tell the Police ? or at the very least NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILDREN ALONE AT NIGHT WHILE YOU GO OUT ON THE PISS ? But what do I know ?

Hi Seven .So Gerry is saying he had "no doubt" that they were being watched yet they still chose to put their own partying needs ahead of the safety of their babies.How could anyone in their right minds do this?This arrogant individual ! On the other hand I am more likely to believe this is a pack of lies just to reinforce the abduction theory. EDIT ... It has been said before that the McCanns had their suspicions that they were being watched in the few days before Maddy went missing and they actually said this . Anyway it's all a pack of lies because there was no abducter.

Mr McCann said that, before Madeleine went missing, he and his wife had been concerned by the security at the back of their Praia da Luz apartment when "maybe the weak spots were at the front".

"It's a corner flat with trees overlooking it - somebody could be hiding there or watching out of view," he said.

He added: "I've no doubt that Madeleine was targeted and that makes us sick to the core to think that someone was watching us and our daughter and then targeted her - I think the true word is a predator.

"But you just don't think there's any trouble and it's certainly the furthest thing from our mind."

Even if someone is stalking, the police cant do anything until that person actually does something...

@The Happy Murcia, just for your information, one of the earliest reports that came out was the mystery of the McCanns coming back to an unlocked door when they left it locked...

ADDITIONAL :

The issue with the thumbs down crew is that they do not know the law. The police cant do anything until the person stalking does something... If you don't like it tough, because thats the law, check it out yourself.

Whatever, will be watching Panorama tomorrow night, bits of it filmed by a friend in August, he doesnt seem to be one of the Tapas 9, maybe I've got that wrong let me know, well you would inform the police about a predator, think that was an after thought

I travelled all over America and Europe with my aunt and she never once left me alone in the hotel. I've also travelled with my own children and would never think of leaving them alone in a hotel. I certainly would never leave them alone if I had a belief that a predator was watching us. These are two well educated people but they dont seem to have the sense of two watermelons.

God it all makes sense now... the man in the appartment waiting to abduct Maddie that Gerry just ignored must be the long-haired man with no face that Jane Tanner saw. The case is solved! Oh, wait, all this was six months ago and nobody told the police... now that's strange. Could it be that this is a bunch of lies?

Absolutely agree, Gerry McScamm was sooooooo worried about his children and a stalker he does what .......let me see, .......... he goes out and leaves them alone in favour of downing 14 bottles of wine with his equally irresponsible friend one of which actually said she saw a strange man carrying Maddie away ............... she only mentioned that little snippet months after the event. The lot of them are covering up for each other with their never ending stories, promises of taking lie detector tests and threats to sue. And new the detectives they have hired tell us that just two days after Maddie got taken, they have proof of who took her. Am I missing something here - Maddie was neglected by her parents in the beginning of May and we are now nearing the end of November - sorry, and the delay was?

Yeah, every time I hear of a spate of burglaries in the area I live in I just leave the doors unlocked when I go out. It's just common sense isn't it?
