The most common fault in the Fiesta/Ka range is a small heater control valve mounted on the bulk head. It's a sealed unit & can't be repaired easily, but there cheap enough to buy from the main dealer. To find it, follow the heater pipes going from the engine to the bulkhead, is usually under the plastic wiper splash panel.
The faulty indicator could just be a loose or bad connection in the bulb holder again just check to make sure there is no corrosion or worn contacts.

Run it till it's hot, and look for the 2 heater hoses, about 1" thick that go into the heater. With the heater on, they both should be very hot, one a little hotter than the other. If one's cold, it's probably a heater control valve. If you can't see it out in the open, right there, don't start taking it apart. If both are only luke warm, it's probably a thermostat.

The heat for your car is produced by passing hot coolant through
a heater matrix, this is inside the heater assy and is fed through 2
rubber pipes behind you engine.
Feel the pipes to see if they are both getting hot,if they are then the mechanical flap inside your heater assy is not being opened to allow the air to pass through the matrix.
It may be possible to look closely around the heater assy to see
where the control arm is for the flap and open it manually.

the newer cars have a shut off for the a/c when its reved or when you get on the gas now if ur saying that its only putting out hot air at idle or sometimes at idle check to be sure its got the right amount of freon in the system not enough censors will shut it off to keep from burning your a.c compressor out if its fine the look along the lines of a bad sensor or a/c compressor clutch

Hi Usually caused by a stuck director baffle. They can be cable powered or vacuum motor powered. Listen for motion under the dash when you change the switch from windshield to flood, and hot to cold.

check the thermostat first but quite possible it might be the heater control valve which is where the pipes go into on entering the cabin from under the bonnet but lies under the dash mk4 fiestas were bad for them at that age too

is the engine getting warm/hot?
if so then the heater core may be blocked.
if not then the thermostat may be stuck open

Check your radiator. If your anti-freeze is low or old, it can effect your car's ability to make heat. Many cars heat the interior by sucking heat from the anti-freeze (before it goes to the radiator to disapate the heat) rather than have electric heaters.
