It's a movie formula. They use sex or sexually suggestive imagery to keep the viewers attention. Next time you watch a movie, be sure to keep a close eye on the screen at around 15 minutes in. Movies that follow a particular formula place some sort of a sexually suggestive display at that moment in a movie. Not all movies do it, only ones that follow this particular formula. One good example: American Beauty.

In horror movies there is always a love scene because if you notice one of the "LOVERS" is always hurt or killed. It makes the story more dramatic!!

It's part of the "horror movie formula". They need to keep the viewers attention with something, that pretty much does it.

Ugh, I don't know. It's so stupid. Most of the time, the scenes are about the same. They're having sex and suddenly they hear a noise. The girl stops and goes...
*gasp* "What was that?"....then the guy goes...
"Oh, it was nothing. Keep going."
Then, they end up getting killed. lol.
