You can get a free trial of System Mechanic 7 at download.com:

But I personally think it's over-rated. There's not much that SM 7 does for $50 that Advanced Windows Care and CCleaner combined can't do for free.

No, unfortunately, there is not. It does come with a free 30 day trial but I am sure you want something more permanent. People like System Mechanic because it has all the tools you need to maintain your computer all roled up in one sweet package. Unfortunately, there is no single free substitute for System Mechanic but there are several free tools which duplicate all the features in System Mechanic. If you can deal with using several programs instead just one then you have some options. The following are all free tools.
1. CCleaner - removes temporary internet files, cookies, temporary files, log and other useless junk on your computer. It also includes a registry cleaner as well.
2. TCP Optimizer - optimizes your Internet connection (i.e speeds up your connection), including: dial up, DSL, cable or other.
3. Tweak N' Tune - customizes Windows. For example, you can set who has access to the control panel, how files are to be grouped, what icons appear on the desktop...etc.
4. FreeRAM Pro - optimizes both RAM and the virtual memory.
5. CacheMan 550 - optimizes hard drive.
6. Lavalys Everest home edition - displays all hardware installed on your computer.
6. Belarc Advisor - displays all software installed on your computer.
7. Recuva - recover accidentally deleted files.

there is not any loose software to work out what percentage DBs you're transferring into your position THEATRE gadget!! the stuff that you spot in motor vehicle audio comps at the same time as they degree dbs expenditures one thousand's of money. the most inexpensive element you'll locate will be about three hundred for application. also, using an "severe priced" microphone received't recommend something. you want to get a microphone noticeably made for studying db output like a TL or something, which will run you one extra 400 (absolute minimum). you're perfect wager is to get one from radio shack. the studying should not be everywhere on the point of useless precise yet a minimum of you'll get a ballpark decision. trust me, I have looked for this kind of application and ultimately had to both flow to a motor vehicle audio shop to get metered and then had to in difficulty-free words make investments in my own.

You can find a free download of ccleaner here http://j.mp/1p6jpxZ
CCleaner is basically a dedicated cleaner which cleans the unwanted files in your computer... eg. when you download or open any file or site, at many places it is registered in your computer that is not needed by the computer to work.....its a wonderful software that frees unwanted space...
Norton is basically a dedicated anti-virus..... I suggest to still install CCleaner
I hope it helps

No I think its on a 30 day trail, I have used it but I did not think much to it. I now have Registry First Aid Agent I have found that to be good, it warns you when not to delete entries. I hope that helps. You can download it and use it as unregistered the only drwback is that it will only delete 12 entries at a time.if you use it unregistered you do get regular updates.
