For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than most "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. Uses less then 10 MB RAM on my machine. And did I mention that it's free!

BTW, Avoid the free version of an anti-virus called AVG, it is wildly popular with noobs, the naive, the computer illiterate, and children, but it has horrible virus detection capibilities.
Enjoy!

Its always worth doing an online scan ...try trendmicro online scanner and ewido online scanner, they are both very slow to scan but they do let you remove any bugs that are there when the scan has finished. You should not use them as your permanant anti virus try Avast if you dont want to payforone. It is very good. I hope that helps.

*Never install more than one anti virus, as they may conflict with each other. On the other hand, is always good to use more than one anti spyware.

The simple solution is to download and install an antivirus software program and scan your computer. There are plenty of good free antivirus programs available so you don't have to spend a dime. The 3 most popular free programs are Antivir, Avast and AVG. You can find all 3 at http://www.filehippo.com/software/antivirus/
Try AVG since it is the easiest to use.
