I've heard this business about "It's the only place it will go" before - but who's trying to kid whom? There are options open to post a question in absolutely ANY category you like if only you follow the instructions on the page - so I think it's as much a case of "Put your glasses on!" than anything else ! ! !

Probably because they know this is the place to go to get the most answers, and possibly Javascript isn't enabled / can't be enabled on their browser, so the word Poll or Survey needs to be included in order for Y!A to make it one of the suggested categories (you won't be able to browse categories without Javascript).

not precisely, notwithstanding that's risk-free. merely approximately 0.5 the people right here do it too. yet do not count on it thoroughly...i are turning out to be a ton of violation notices for questions that had: Survey or pollin front of them for chatting.
