errm well you kinda need the langage you think to have a language you use except you usually filter on what to say before you say it. yeah even if it's not the same languge it's related cause they need eachother to have your speech and thinking correct.

It's complex. I have very negative ways of speaking which I learned from my dad, but the motivation isn't nearly as negative as the words. What you think and say is only half of a conversation anyway. The other half is how the other person percieves what you say, and they've all got their own motivations and sensitivities.

When we are born, we are hardwired (via Mirror Neurons) to imitate the actions of those we see around us. Eventually, we associate the words of the local language with things, feelings, and actions. When we think, there are threads which weave our feelings, fears and desires; with our associations of the words of our language.

The sequence goes something like this:
Feeling => Words => more Feelings/Associations => more Words . . .

In this sense, language both expands and limits our ability to think. It is easier to think of things we have seen or experience before, and profoundly more difficult to imagine things or possibilities we haven't.
