Richard S - thx for the chuckle. No bulb is bright in the box. You probably meant, the brighest bulb in the room.

Before he entered the race YA was full of comments along the lines of, "Just wait until Fred throws his hat in the ring! Then America will see a true leader!"

I laughed about it then, because I knew that Thompson was a ditz... just like Bush.

Well, Fred threw his hat in the ring... and within a week... no one had anything to say about him anymore. Not surprisingly.

The expression is "the brightest bulb in the box." Fred has, quite disappointingly, lost almost all of his steam, and unless he kicks it into high gear within something like the next two days his campaign's shot. He isn't stupid, though, since he knows what he's talking about; he just isn't communicating it very effectively.

Fred Thompson is a tired old actor. Remind you of another Republican candidate of the 80's? But Ronnie was more charismatic and despite his Alzheimer's disease was elected for a second term.
Fred Thompson doesn't have a chance.

As dim as W is he's still brighter than this bozo.

What was all the hoopla about anyway. I guess he's a good teleprompter reader like Regan.

Of all the presidential candidates Mr. Thompson seems to be the one that wants it the least. Maybe he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but then compared to our current president he's a razor.
