SADM first add or subtract the number to both sides. For example, since 4 is being subtracted, add four to 20 and four itself.
now it is 8n=24 because the four cancels out.
Next divide 8 because 8 is already being multiplied by n. Divide 8 by 24, and 8 itself
n=3 because 8 cancels out.
Double check by substituting 3 for n. Hope this helps and ps can i have best answer? :)

8n -4 = 20
8n= 20 +4
8n= 24
divide both sides by 8 to get "n" by itself, so,
n = 3
