That is a very personal decision. Our church doesn't do any outside nativity things but has a production inside. Anyways personally I being the over protective mother i am already (and she isn't even born yet) would not have my little baby out in the cold like that. I mean search your heart. Do what you feel is best and trust your instincts. If your instincts say its best for him to stay home than follow that. If your instincts feel its okay for him to do this, let him. But you know he is going to have plenty of more opportunities to shine throughout his life. So do what your maternal instincts feel is best for your son. Me with the weather we have had, with the flu as bad as its been, I probably would decline to have my child do that. I mean I don't think God is going to be upset for you looking out for the well being of your son, if that is what you are worried about.
