I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed under General Anesthesia.
I definitely hurt worse going in than coming out of it. I was scared to death that the pain afterwards would be unbearable, but it was actually a relief, felt absolutely NO discomfort. Lots of blood though, and lots of gauze! But truly felt no pain post-surgery! Guess I was lucky. Hear so many horror stories from many people after wisdoms are removed.
Yes I was groggy as hell afterwards too, and yes had to use a wheelchair, I think that is SOP for anyone having general anesthesia. They don't want you going down trying to walk out of the place. Also, many times they require someone to be there to take you home, or call a cab etc.
But after I rested for a few hours was feeling fine.

Unfortunantly ET tubes are part of general anasthesia, as unplesant as they are. My last expirence with genereal, I expected to sort of be groggy when they pulled out the tube (which was my first expirence). No.... I woke up rather abrubtly, wondering if it was anasthesia awarness (my worst surgical fear), and realized I had a tube down my throat, and I could feel the vent breathing for me. Not pleasant. I managed to make some sort of noise to let them know I was awake and wanted the damned tube out! They pulled it out, and boy, I don't think I've ever been more greatful! Other than that, my last surgery went with out complications. If the ET tube is the worst thing I can complain about, it wasn't that bad.
With my first surgery, I was really unaware of them taking the tube out, except them telling me to cough, and I didn't really give a hoot what was going on. I didn't have to use a wheelchair, it wasn't far from the recovery 2 to the vehicle I was taken home in.
The second time I was all too aware of that damned tube, and I did have to use a wheelchair, but the morphine made it worth it. lol.

I've been under general anesthesia twice that I can remember for torn ligaments in my knee due to softball. I had an IV that would not have hurt, or so they said, if they had been able to find a vein in my elbow. They used a vein in the back of my hand and one on the side of the inside of my arm. I didn't have any breathing tubes that I remember and I did have to use a wheelchair. There was not a lot of pain because they gave me strong painkillers, however the meds made me so sick. They were the worst part of surgery.

I've had two surgeries this summer and i'm going in for a 3rd one. I had an IV and it hardly hurt at all when they put it in. Ask for an EMLA patch to be put on about an hour before you get taken it. I also had an ET tube. The first time I had it I wasn't sore at all (throat after) but the second time it hurt to talk at loud volumes. My IV leaked into my hand the first time, so if you feel any swelling, let the nurse know right away! I was kind of scared before I went to the hospital, but once I got there they gave me a drug called ativan, it calms you right down. i'm 16 too by the way

Really did not have a sore throat just a little irritation. Only used a wheelchair to get from the hospital room to the door to go home. The surgery went perfectly both for my gall bladder and for my torn cartlidge in my knee. Had a little bruising from where the IV was in.

You're lucky you got to use a wheel chair. look at my story!
I had a tooth exposure and went to a surgeon for it. I went under with 1 IV, and when I woke up I had 2. I was like wtf?? lol. he said "you dont want to wake up in the middle of the procedure do you? thats why I put 2 in you. I didn't have a breathing tube obviously because they were working on my mouth. but right when I woke up, they made me WALK into some other room and I could barely see, the nurse was holding me up. my mom said I looked pissed when I woke up. i felt like i was gonna barf, probably because i swallowed too much blood. I was in a lot of pain and they gave me vicodin (im only 15 too). that made me sick. anyways i didnt like it at all. but my mom, she LOVES being put under. at least you got a wheelchair!! lol.

mine went the exact same way. I had surgical removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth, back in 1992. I also vomited blood, in addition to all the things you listed as having. I also had dreams afterward of having 'come-to' during surgery...also norrmal, I've been told.
