When my eldest son told me 2 weeks ago that I was going to be a Grandma....yikes.....

and

when I go clothes shopping with my daughter, I pick up a dress that I like and show her and she says "oh Mum only pensioners wear that"...so I put it back on the rail.

The finale comes when your kids put on music and you cannot understand the words.....and you find yourself repeating phrases that your parents you to say to you when you listened to The Rolling Stones etc.....

I'm really not sure if I'm a mature adult yet or not. Other people probably see and think of me as one but I sure don't. In my mind, I'm still a youngster--trapped in a body turning traitor on me. I mean, I do know how to take care of my own needs, I hold down a job and pay my taxes and vote and show up for jury duty and whatever. But the idea of being married to one person for 35 years, as my younger sister has been, is still unfathomable to me. My nephew got married this summer and it felt so surreal to me because how can he possibly be old enough to wed when I'm not yet old enough to marry (and I'm only a year younger than the boy's dad)??? It's funny but at work I do feel like a mature adult but anywhere else, I feel like my normal self, a kid (with white hair and achy joints). And now you've got me wondering what being mature actually means. How do you tell if you're a mature adult anyway?

I was ready for marriage and ready to spend my life with one
man for the rest of my life. I had grown tremendously in the
months prior, having begun a different life style in the
army, and had made alot of discoveries about myself and my
capabilities. I had learned to accept responsibility and I'd
learned how to live & learn & work with a large group of women like myself, and be a better person for the experience

When I gave birth to my first son at 23. Motherhood and fatherhood matures a person quickly. Later on, you feel like it has aged you faster than you ever thought it would.
