When I was a kid, I remember huge snowfalls, we have pics and stuff, but lately we here in New Jersey haven't had a heavy winter in years. Last good snow was Dec 6 06 but the rest of the winter was boring. This October was average 8.2 degrees higher than normal, and last few years were higher too. Anyone know what the heck is going on here?

kingler that would be so comforting except i have been checking statistics and weather patterns for my area for about an hour from several different sources, and all of them seem to indicate that we are experiencing some sort of trend in higher than average winter/fall temps. That's kinda freaky.

This is just one of those questions where people can give a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to show how many left thumbs there are and how many right thumbs there are...

Look, the weather is naturally an ever changing process; is that not a fact?

We all know what pollution is. The clearest factor is the quality of fresh air, and the lack there of in many places that I think is the real cause for concern, because it's just nicer to have it.

How it affects the environment in terms of "Global Warming," we all have yet to see conclusive, irrefutable evidence that would be a no-brainer for all that no one could deny.

I say, it's just better to be safe than sorry, and we should all practice environmentally sound tasks. For bettering the quality of fresh air and serving the very important purpose of having an ounce of prevention.

Weather fluctuation, nothing more.
Don't believe the global warming hype that some people use to try to scare you.
It will all even out in the end.
There have always been droughts, huge forest fires, and even ice ages that happened long before man ever cooked the first piece of meat on a wood fire.
Enjoy not having to shovel to much snow as of late, I guarantee you will get your opportunity to complain about all the snow that you will have to shovel some day.

Good Evening ,
May I suggest that everyone look at an Air Force Phillips Lab/Navy /DOD project called HAARP !!! I bet you've either never heard of or barely recollect hearing of it. There are books out there on the subject as well .You'll be astonished to see what the capabilities of this program actually are...

It isn't....everything from your childhood seems bigger and better. If you look into the actual statistics from your area you'll see that things aren't that different then what you think you remember.

Don't let Al Gore and the other global warming alarmists get to you. Most of what they say is false!

four inches of snow this weekend in Vermont already -- unusually early, too.

human caused "global warming" is nonsense.

Vikings were able to grow hay in Greenland from about 925 ad through 1300 ad -- must have been warmer yet back then, eh?

Yeah, and I love it!! BTW, statistically, more people die from the cold than the heat.
