I would have liked to see the Scots go through to the euro's next year because i like to see any Brits do well.
But the way the Scots love to see England fail really bugs me .The only important person in that list of names is Gordon brown who happens to be Scottish.

Joe Calzaghe was actually born in Hammersmith in London and his father is from Sardinia. I know he considers himself Welsh as do all Welsh people but you could argue he is English given his place of birth. What is important about Abramovich, Grant or Murray?

you have a strange appreciation for what is important!! sportmen are not important... at the end of the day they are just entertainers and do not affect life and death. As for Gordon Brown he is only PM by default and is running scared already cos he knows how unpopular he is! So therefore NONE of the people you mentioned are actually important. Have any of them found a cure for cancer or defended the realm as our troops have...no! that would make them truly important!!

Well there are a lot of English ppl that r important..
When the English ppl decided to make the 13 colonies, the Revolutionary War happened. So there r ppl like Patrick Henry who said, "Give me Liberty, Or Give me Death!" And believe it or not, I'm related to him on my mom's side. N e way... there's TONS of English ppl who r important.

Go back in time and it is difficult to establish what is a true Englishman. To a certain extent we are all a mix of so many nationalities, Norsemen, Romans, Germans, French, I guess a true Eng-lander would still be dressed in fur and wielding a club, So we have to rely on where you were born and what's on your birth certificate But rest assured there are just as many important English people as any other Nationality.
