Can anyone help me with this problem? It's about sets and sub-sets.

There are 16 of them. I'll list them all for you by
number of elements. Note the pattern.
I'll leave off the braces for now.
0 elements: Φ(empty set)
1 element: a b c d
2 elements: ab ac ad bc bd cd
3 elements: abc abd acd bcd
4 elements: abcd
The total number is 1+4+6+4+1 = 16.
Does 1,4,6,4,1 look familiar to you?
