Heard digging above me. Im hearing it constantly. I open the attic door and i hear little squeeky noises from animals. Sounds like babies squeeking almost. Do squirrels make those noises? Also, before i thought i heard a heavier animal up there and when i was moving blankets i thought i heard a growl. I originally thought it was a raccoon now i dont know, never heard the squeeky noises and a lot of squirrels hang around the house. They jump from the tree to the house. What do you think it could be? Whatever is up there has been there for months and right now its snowing lightly.

Poltergeists!
Actually it may be squirrels more than rats or mice. If, you have healthy squirrels, sometimes you hear them running across the roof as they head for an opening into your attic. The squeaking is most likely babies. I guess there two options; run them out and close the opening they use. OR, live and let live. The only bad thing is when they not live and die in your attic, believe me, you will know!
If, you not have trees close for them to get to the roof, they use the power lines coming in to get on the roof.

Mice, Rats (rats would certainly make the heavier noise) many baby rodents squeek. I would get someone in to look at it, or set a humane trap up there so you know exactly what your dealing with. Start with just a mouse/rap trap and see if you catch anything. But all rodents can cause substantial damage to property if left un-treated, so best to sort it out sooner rather than later.

I would go with coyote because they can have some very eerie vocalizations. That being said, could be a lot of things. I have a banty rooster that when disturbed at night sounds exactly like an old lady screaming.

Sounds like mice, rats, or bats. Squirrels don't really squeak, per se. I really think it is probably mice or rats, though. Good luck.
