Does anyone (in Maryland or near the Maryland area, Virginia) know where any sewing classes are or design classes. My mother and I wanted to take a sewing class because my mother used to be able to sew really well and she wants to make her own clothes. I think it'd be interesting. Please Help!

Check with your local school department and ask for a catalog of adult ed classes. There's usually a sewing class in there, once or twice a week for a couple of months, and they don't cost very much.

Joann's in Parkville does. They offer tons of crafting and sewing classes. My daughter took classes there many times. They offer chlidrens and adult classes. Open class where you can bring your own items to work on with some help and classes where you make a particular item. We made scrap blankets and pillows and probaly 10 other items there. I also made my daughters Christening gown and needed help with some things and did that there. Call your local Joann's and see if they offer simular classes.
