In school, I have to make a modern day Romeo and Juliet Scene. I'm not sure how I want to make it. Some people made it modern by using pictures of celebritys to be Romeo and Juliet. Someone also made the scene at a restaraunt. I want it to be something no one would think of or something funny.

Any Ideas?

You could make it more like a war scene with Romeo and Juliet each side of a barb wire fence. Maybe portraying one as an illegal immigrant, or someone on the other side of the war.

I'm with Theatre Doc re the assignment, and he's right about West Side Story. Todd Rundgren has a Romeo&Juliet song called "Range War"---sort of a western, where the lovers are members of rival families embued in a blood feud over the diversion by one of water running through both properties to the detriment of the other families cattle. You might be able to have a little fun with that. A lot of musical artists have done their own take on the R&J theme, maybe you can think of another.

dumb idea for an assignment, West Side Story already did that. However I had a great idea. Reverse their positions, make Romeo on the balcony sighing over Juliet, and have Juliet down below aggressively wooing him. (I still don't like the assignment)

Do one where Romeo is Israeli and Juliet is Palestinian and have them on opposite sides of the wall.
