My Bestfriend, his name is lars, and he got suspended for two weeks for spitting in a sandwich at lunch.I think this was a very bad reason to get suspended. but, he was supposed to come back to our school after 2 weeks, but the school board said he can't come back. My friends and i want to make a petition to get lars back!! he's gonna take it to the court with him, to show him how much people care about him and want him back. wer're also putting up flyers and wearing signs on our backs. do you think we can get him back?? OH! and my friend also wrote a letter to the superintendant of our school.

First, besides being rude, spitting in someone else's food is potentially harmful. Do you know for certain that he is completely free of communicable diseases? No, and my bet is that Lars doesn't know for certain unless he goes to the doctor every day and is tested for every possible disease every day.

Your petition isn't going to do much good other than to provide Lars with moral support. If Lars wants to come back, Lars has to do it himself.

If I was Lars... I'd write a well-articulated letter/essay to the school board and superintendent explaining why his actions were wrong (I gave you two primary reasons at the start.). If I were him, I'd also offer to do some community service to show how sorry I was (such as getting up to speak at a school assembly on the dangers of spitting in someone else's food, and the possibility of the spread of communicable diseases.) That's showing incredible penance.

I have NO clue how old Lars is, what his overall (pre-episodic) attitude was like, or if he's been in trouble before but it's worth a try.

Are you that absent minded?

haha...you don't think someone spitting in another person's sandwich is bad enough to get suspended?

Well..why don't I come and spit a big snotty one in your food while you're getting ready to eat it at school, and you tell me that you wouldn't have a problem with it?

lol...give it a rest. it's a lose/lose situation for you and your "lars" friend.

...I would spit on your question, but I don't want to get my computer screen dirty :)

......get a life.

With the holidays approaching, by the time you get a good petition circulated his suspension will be over. While it does seem a bit extreme to get suspended for that reason, I assume he's clearly old enough to know to keep his saliva to himself. It may be more helpful to him if you all kept him abreast of schoolwork he's missed during his forced hiatus. That way catching up will be easier for him.
