that anyway. He likes music, but already has an iPod. I'd like to stay $55 or less.

This is for my step-brother. My dad is a HUGE fisherman, but my sb doesn't ever want to go with him. He gave his fishing rods to my son.:(
I'd like to give him something to get him moving and keep him out of trouble. He plays soccer on a non-competitive league.

No candy. He had gained so much weight at one point, his bones fractured. If he gains more, his doc will not release him to play soccer.

I'm getting these two books for my two boys 9 & 10. "Backyard Ballistics" and "The Dangerous Book for Boys". Board games are also good to get.

I have to agree with one of the ladies. The dangerous book for boys is GREAT! It was given to my less than energetic step son to get him off the video games and encourage reading. It is chuck full of interesting facts and projects. My husband and I looked through the whole thing. Unfortunately my step son hasn't touched it.
My step son has asked for Cabela's monster buck game hunt and Pimp my ride video games for PS2. We don't keep him up to date with the latest greatest gadget on purpose. He has to learn to be grateful for what he has and take care of it before he gets anything else. Maybe a tae-bo video and some weights( not to be cruel), but my 11 year old recently took an interest in karate. Martial arts is not about violence, it is about discipline, respect, control, and confidence. I was very annoyed , thinking he would go around bullying people. But he has gained a lot of wisdom, and shows a lot more respect to my husband and I.

How about a book? If you happen to know what he likes in the way of stories, maybe you can find something that falls into that. Or, you could maybe find an educational game of some kind......just a thought.
Good luck.

Well, if he has an ipod and really likes music, then buy him a $50 ITunes Gift Card. You can't go wrong with one of those.

Since you said he likes video games, get him something he like and u approve. Like a educational video/computer game. Something to crack his brain up - some stratergic games. That will keep him occupied for long without getting into trouble.

Id say get him a football and a tossl cap of your cities football team...that would be less than $55...throw in a couple candy bars, he'd be happy with that.
