No ridiculous answers please.
I'm talking about your outlook in life.
Metaphorically speaking... some people see the same glass but see it differently.

Half-empty.

When i was at school, a teacher gave us a quiz where one of the questions was "What would be another way to describe a half-empty glass?". I thought this was a very strange question and answered that it could be described as liquid surrounded on all sides but the top by glass and failing to reach the brim, or some such complicated reply, and it just did not compute that it could be described as half-full! That is how far i am from being an optimist.

I actually think that the statement of 'glass half full or half empty' is part of personal manipulated conditioning of your mind so that you always carry on the knowledge into the next stage of life.
This is because as humans we are told to remember and progress as in 'practice makes perfect' but if we were able to forget all we know when starting a new project we would learn that new thing as a whole without the manipulation of our prior knowledge.
So when asked 'Is your glass half empty, or half full' I would have to answer 'I like to start with an empty glass' as I know it is instinctual for humans to mix up what they learn later when they know to understand the one in detail.

it varies, depending on the topic and where my mind is at, sometimes my outlook can change even within a day, or hour
i guess i categorize life, into many parts, so one thing(glass) may be half full, another half empty, one overrunning, and one with only a drop in it
i find it a very usefull tool to be able to separate things, as one can be very happy yet very sad, all at the same time, and i realize nothing is ever all bad or all good at once, and i dont spend time trying to get an overall average of how my life is ,

Always half-full - there is no other way. No matter how bad things seem - there will always be someone feeling just as bad, or worse. Take each day, learn a lesson from it,and share it with someone else - and SMILE !! :)-)

No one here answers half empty. But I prefer to be half empty.I still have enough room for improvements, willing to receive whatever life has to offer, for man is insatiable being. Once full, he keeps on filling his glass..overflowing..so, I prefer my life to be half empty.

I just see half a glass meaning that I have learnt to accept the yin-yang, up-down, strikes and gutters aspect of life.

I am a realist. I don't see the glass as either.

My glass is always full. Even if there is no liquid, there is something esle filling up its volume. It may not be what you want, but it's the truth.

My glass is always full.

Half of it may be full of water and the other half may be full of air, but it is totally full.

If you only focus on what is lacking in life you will miss out on what is actually in it.
