I've been playing tennis for about 7 years. My footwork has gotten better but I need some techiques or excercises that I can do before a match to help me with my footwork on the court when I'm playing. Thanks I appreciate the answers!!!

probably the best exercise is jumping rope. not just the basic jumping, but increase intensity, speed, etc. that will fire up your feet so they get to learn.

next...go to a gym and see if you can take some kickboxing classes.

also...watch watch watch the pros. i suggest federer and henin and then copy them in the living room or in front of a mirror.

ok start jumping on the stairs and running downhill, and runing short sprints and 200 meter sprints, and you might try to play soccer too cuase it improves your footwork alot too.

if you want to improve your game by 10% tomorrow, then start by playing on your toes - literally.

watch how boxers bounce on their toes, and do the same between points and as you play.

the guy who said to watch federer is on to something.

the thing that makes federer really special is not his strokes or his speed or his power - it's his preparation.
