i want to know the difference of modern anjd contemporary (for example: modern dance vs contemporary dance, modern artists vs contemporary artists)

It can be confusing, I know. The two words can have several different meanings, and people sometimes use them as synonyms.

In general, when scholars and critics talk about contemporary art and dance, they are referring to work being produced today, work done by living artists and performers. When they talk about modern art and modern dance they are talking about styles that emerged in relatively recent history, say in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Those styles were called "modern" because they made a point of rejecting many aspects of the art produced in earlier generations.

Modern dance is like a funky 'ballet' style... it's almost hip hop and ballet mixed I'd say but not exactly.

Contemporary is a lot like ballet, just not so strict. You don't have to be very flexible to do it like in ballet, and you don't have to be able to split - although it makes it prettier.
