Yes parental notification and consent should be required. Isn't it amazing that a school nurse cannot give an aspirin or medication to a student without parent's permission. Abortion is a procedure that causes death . .. first to the baby within the young girl, and then, could cause death to the young girl having the abortion

Abortions have caused many deaths after and during the procedure. As a parent how would you like the following scenario... you say good bye to your teenager in the morning as she leaves to school. Then later that day you are called and told that your child is hemorrhaging from a bad abortion or have just died from complications. How would you feel as a parent?

Where is the rights of the parents to make a life and death decision for their minor children? Then would the school nurse or counselor be responsible for the child's death?

The law does not protect the rights of parents and fathers and that is so sad.

The fate of a baby's life should not lie in the hands of the woman alone.

Parental consent is a start, but ultimately ALL abortions need to be outlawed. It is murder no matter what the reason or what stage the fetus is at.

Yes it should be required. That is their grandchild she might choose to kill. The father should have a say, too. Women don't conceive a baby alone.

And just because a girl turns 18 doesn't suddenly make abortion ok or a "private matter."

Since when did deliberate murder become a "private matter?"

Unfortunately the parents should know. I know this causes a lot of heart ache but there could be severe complications and the parents need to be there if anything happens. A "child" has no clue on what they are getting in to.

Both should be required.

A teen can't get aspirin at school without her parents consent, why should she be able to get an abortion??

But of course.

The underage pregnant "woman" is actually a CHILD... No one should perform ANY type of operation on a CHILD without a parents consent UNLESS the CHILD's life is in immediate danger.

When that CHILD turns 18 then they are an ADULT and the rules change...

No. Medical care is a personal choice, not one that is to be forced upon you by people that may think they know better.
Additionally, you can not lock an underage woman in the house to make sure she doesnt seek other means of obtaining an abortion. It is MORE important for abortions to be done in a safe medical enviroment then to have parental consent and for fear of parents to have underage women travel to other countries or to have back alley abortions done. Women have always recieved abortions, for thousands of years, so ask yourself, would you want your daughter to have the option of real private personal medical care or a back alley coat hanger abortion for her fear of parental consent and approval?
