Harvest Moon DS Help?

How do you unlock the first mining level on harvest moon DS? I've done it before but i lost the booklet that came with the game so i forgot how to....

Enter the mine after 9pm with the hammer in inventory, but not equipped. You should get a short scene and the mine will be open.

Go to the dig site late at night, say 11:00 pm onwards, and carter will be there.he will say he has found something and ask you to whack the wall with your hammer then TADAA!!!!!!!
