Not really. I mean, do you really think someone like Paris Hilton thinks money is evil? Money gets you things...because thats what almost everyone wants. But others have morals. They would rather be poor and with the one they love and health...then be with the one they hate but with money. It basically depends on the person. As for me, I am not rich, nor am I poor. I am greatful for what I do have. Of course I wish I had a lot of money to go to Europe, etc. But, I really want to go...and I will. And something like having money or not...will not stop me. So,money is only the root of all evil if you allow it to be.

Money isn't the root of all evil. Money is handy stuff to have around! Selfishness is the root of all evil, in my opinion. It's ok to want what you want, but it has to be balanced with what other people want and need too.

I agree with Sultan 39. I think the pain you refer to is caused more by a "lack of money" that makes people feel desperate enough to do foolish and regretful things to acquire money.

Any tool that can be used to control another person is evil. When you make someone a slave, you take away their freedom. Only evil people should be lacking in freedom.
So I suppose people who live their lives lusting after material goods and money deserve what they get. Slavery.
Money for the majority is just a toy for souless people. I'm not saying they are evil. Just souless.

Basic instincts, needs, wants and desires cause behavior that has been categorized as "evil". Even without money these qualities exist.

no, desire for power, and feelings of insecurity which lead to desires for power, produce much more evil then money
money is just sometimes a tool by which people strive for power
money and what it can buy are just physical things, evil comes from within a person

No. Not at all. From my long experience, I can assure you that lack of money makes people mean, avaricious, cunning , calculating, impolite, mendacious, meretricious, venal. With money, you can lead a decent, civilized life, give good education to your children, afford a good life for your family, can afford to be generous, have low stress levels, entertain your friends, help the needy.
Money generally has a civilizing effect on people. Money, if earned rightfully and legally, by using your brain and God-given faculties is a very, very good thing.
